Yorkshire Post fashion shoot

Yet again I had the pleasure of working along side the Fashion Editor of the Yorkshire Post, Stephanie Smith for clothing brand Lavitta's  summer shoot that just featured in last weekends Yorkshire Post, 6th June article.

It was a busy day with lots of outfit changes and our model Julie made it ever the more fun with her bubbly and uplifting personality!  There was lots of quick hair changes, from big bouncy curls, to pony's and fish tails starting with natural lips to pops of corals and bright pinks :)

Here is video of me been put on the spot, eeek the moment I watched this was when I realised how ''Propa Yorkshire I do speak'' ;-0

http://m.yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk/what-s-on/arts-entertainment/fashion-video-redressing-the-balance-1-7289491

Here is the list of  setting sprays I recommended in the video:

Urban Decay All Nighter - I like this for giving a long lasting dewiness  to make-up, I would recommend this for dry and dull skin types.

Urban Decay De Slick - Perfect for oily skin types, locking down make-up and hot summer days, I would avoid this if you have particular sensitive skin and use the balance spray below.

Jane Iredale - Packed full of natural organic goodies, can be used as a refreshing hydration spray and helps balance combination skin types. Recommended to set minerals but I love it for setting all make-up.

November, actually make that December just!

I have some how managed to sail through the past six months without a single blog post!  However much I say to myself at the start of each year, ''you must update your news page Anna'' I hit the busy period, which in this case has seemingly lasted near on six months and the posts dwindle!  In a world of tweeting, pinning, snapping and so much more my cyber momentum is beginning to flag! I end up choosing my bed when I know I have a 5am call than sat till the wee hours squeezing in the blog posts!  I suppose there is the pro bloggers and the occasional bloggers and I know which box I fit in to.  Mental note to self (blog more!)

So what's taken up so much of my time, well.......  I have been very fortunate to work on 89 weddings this year so far plus all of the trials to go along with all of those weddings, it will be awesome if I can hit 100 weddings for 2014!

I have also worked on some really exciting assignments this year, one of my favourites been Allure Bridal Fashion show, that was like heaven, been able to swoon over all those beautiful gowns, I also styled hair and make-up for Lamb 1887's a/w 14 campaign and s/s 15 campaign.  The autumn/winter shoot made a lovely little feature in 'Attire Accessories Magazine' with a front page appearance too.

To save you all the long version ;) I have updated my recent work page so all the great projects I have been apart of can be viewed here: Clients /Assignments.

Mayanchi hair shoot

I got to work with some really cool local people from York, Leeds and Harrogate, just over a week ago and a few from a bit further a field.  It was a hair shoot for the launch of Mayanchi salon in York city centre and I was there along with the rest of the team to provide three different makeup looks for the shoot.  The looks were most definitely bold, quirky and colourful.

Photography was by Heinz Schmidt the artistic director and owner of Mayanchi was Tracy Baker.

There was a large team on hand, hair stylist, make-up artists, assistant photographers, models and wardrobe stylist :)

Here's a couple of the makeup looks and one of the professionals to finish with.

Cracking Studio Shoot

Hey folks here's a few behind the scenes piccie's from yesterdays cracking studio shoot at Leeds City Studios.  I was working with Lamb 1887 for the third time and CJRodgers Photography who never fails to capture a fantastic image as you will see when you scroll down! I think you will be able to spot the absolute stunning beauty shot, funnily enough this was taken as a quick snap at the end by Craig.

It was totally great to work with Lamb 1887 again and Chandni Palmer the artistic director for Lamb, she is completely focused but equally open to our ideas and visions.  The shoot was for their autumn/ winter handbag collection.  Our model was Jazmine Darson from Nemesis Agency, she had gorgeous almond eyes and skin like silk, an utter dream for me as a make-up artist to work on.

Agnieszka Galat-Bracken was the stylist for the day whipping out an array of elegant lines from beautiful faux furs to clean cut jackets and stylish shirts!

I cant finish this blog with out a mention for Leanne Rodgers, wife and assistant to Craig. Her input is always over and beyond, she is utterly bonkers so always a joy to have around :)

All round great team work :)

Great team

Here's some pics back from a great team shoot I worked on this month.  Yet again so fortunate with the weather, I'm starting to think that model Lauren Newman is our little ray of sunshine and brings out the good weather.

Lamb 1887 Spring/Summer 14 Look Book released

It was great to work with Lamb 1887 again on their s/s 14 collection, I have just received a copy of the Look Book and it looks totally fab.  I'm really pleased with how the hair and make-up looks and I have just uploaded a new gallery with a selection of images from the shoot in the Fashion portfolio.

It actually looks warm in the pictures, especially to say the shoot took place in December!  All shot in the beautiful grounds of Hazelwood Castle.  We were so lucky with the weather cold but beautiful sunshine and blue skies, just what this look needed :)

2013 a happy year of hair & make-up....

With the launch of my new website for 2014 and a happy year of hair and make-up in 2013 I am really looking forward to the coming year.....

Ok so I haven't accidentally been so absent minded and not posted any news since November 2011.  Unfortunately in my new website transfer most of my blog posts were lost in transit....  Oh well as the saying goes out with the old and in with the new.

2013 kicked off with Corbin's List film promo and Frightened Rabbit music video.  I was fortunate enough to work on 67 weddings throughout the year and fashion shoots for Lamb 1887.

Here's to 2014 a fresh new year, with a fresh new website and plenty of new news :)

Action Packed weekend

That third glass of wine just went down a little too easy..... Is that wrong for a Monday night, make that Tuesday morning! Perhaps not after my hectic weekend!

So Friday it was nearly a full days shoot with Ched53 - Design & Photography and the two lovelies, Model Camilla-Rose Helley and Stylist Claudia Falcieri Aliffe. The shoot took place in a very beautiful house and I am very much looking forward to seeing the images.

Then it was a quick pack up and on the motorway for a meeting at the left eye blind office in Leeds for briefing about the character, make-up and story line for film project 2.8 day later which was to be filmed the next day.

Saturday - Filming day - One character to make up (Steve)

Character Profile - A sad, desperate and lonely man. I made the actor look sleep deprived, slightly aged and a little sad.

It was a location shoot by the canal in Leeds and all the crew were fantastic to work with. Especially Pamala she was a real scream....... behind the scenes pictures to follow!! We even made a new found friend, our very own Mr Jingles. Very cute and I want to say 'she' for some reason seemed to very much enjoy the left over Tuna sandwich.

Can't wait to see the finished film :)

Sunday was face painting at Fairfield Manor in York and I thankfully managed to see the new Twilight Film...... A - MAZ - ING. I aspire to work on such fantastic films..... One day...... :) :)

My bed is now very much calling Zzzzzzzzzz

Zombies and blood.....

The weekend was spent on a location shoot for a zombie film set to be released next year.  Saturday and Sunday were spent making up zombies which also included lots of fake blood been splattered.

Sunday was my favourite location, remote woodland area in the Strines, middle of the night, no phone signal might I add.... perfect setting for a zombie film.

The chip butties seemed to go down a treat at around 12am, enjoyed by cast and crew, very kindly provided by the owner of the Strines paint balling site.

I was petrified when it came to driving home at 2am along the deserted winding country roads...... Arrgghh!!
